FORMAT & STRUCTURE

Guest Name

Daily Qualifiers: 

  • Season 1 Qualifiers are Standard Format

  • Decklists are required and event will have open Decklists

  • Modified Swiss-style (50-minute rounds)

  • 6 Swiss Rounds Players 5-1 (15 match points) or better qualify for Weekend Championship

  • Weekly Championship Qualification must be used in same week

Weekly Championship: 

  • Format is Standard

  • Decklists are required and event will have open Decklists

  • Players must use the same deck on Day Two that they used on Day One.​

  • Modified Swiss-style (50-minute rounds)

  • Day One will consist of 8 Swiss Rounds followed by a cut.  Day Two will consist of 6 Swiss Rounds and the Top 8 single-elimination playoff.

  • All players with an X-2-0 record (18 points or better) or the top 128 players – whichever is greater, advance to the second day of competition for prizes and invitations.

  • The Top 8 players after the final Swiss round on Day Two will advance to the Top 8 single-elimination playoff.

  • Standings after the Swiss rounds will be used to determine final order in the standings for losing players in the quarterfinal and semifinal playoff rounds.

Season Finals: 

  • Format is Standard

  • Decklists are required and event will have open Decklists

  • Players must use the same deck on Day Two that they used on Day One.​

  • Modified Swiss-style (50-minute rounds)

  • Day One will consist of 7 Swiss Rounds followed by a cut.  Day Two will consist of 6 Swiss Rounds and the Top 8 single-elimination playoff.

  • All players with an 4-3-0 record (12 points or better) or the top 64 players – whichever is greater, advance to the second day of competition.

  • The Top 8 players after the final Swiss round on Day Two will advance to the Top 8 single-elimination playoff.

  • Standings after the Swiss rounds will be used to determine final order in the standings for losing players in the quarterfinal and semifinal playoff rounds.

General Rules

Players are expected to compete under the implemented rules for Magic: The Gathering Arena.

 

Participation

Participation in MagicFest Online is contingent on players having accounts that are in good standing for Magic: The Gathering Arena and competitive tabletop Magic: The Gathering. Players suspended from participation in Magic: The Gathering Arena or in sanctioned tabletop tournaments are ineligible for any prizes and subject to additional action.

 

Players in Magic: The Gathering Arena events are required to follow the Wizards Terms and Conditions.

 

Weekend Championship Qualification

Players with at least 5 match wins in a daily qualifier will receive entry into the weekend championship. This entry must be used in the same week and is not transferable.

 

Connectivity and other Issues

Players should review known issues in Magic: The Gathering Arena prior to participation in the MagicFest Online. CFB Events are not responsible for impact on the game as a result of players experiencing known issues.

 

CFBEvents is not responsible for the results of any disconnection or network problems experienced by players.

In the event a player disconnects they forfeit that game. they then have 5 minutes to reconnect before losing the match.   To resume a disconnected game players should restart the challenge with the disconnecting player conceding a game.   No player should report a result for a match in which their opponent disconnected without reporting to an admin

                   

Prizes and Eligibility

All prizes are awarded “as is” and without warranty of any kind, expressed, or implied (including without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose). This is a contest of skill and, therefore, there are no odds of winning as is the case with a game of chance. All applicable taxes, fees, duties, tariffs, passport or visa costs, and any license, destination, entry, exit, and/or delivery charges are the sole responsibility of each player. Taxes on prizes (including, without limitation, income taxes), if any, are the sole responsibility of any player winners.

 

Players may be disqualified from Magicfest Online if they are suspended from Magic: The Gathering Arena or sanctioned Magic: The Gathering tabletop play for any reason, including without limitation, a violation of the Magic: The Gathering Arena End User License Agreement.

Players are not permitted to have more than one of their accounts entered in any single event at one time. Players are not permitted to have any accounts entered in events played by other players for any reason. If a player is discovered to have more than one account playing in MagicFest Online, during, or after the event, Action may be taken against that player’s account(s), up to and including disqualification, suspension of the offending account(s), and/or termination of the offending account(s). Using an account other than your own, allowing any other player to use your account, selling your account, and other similar actions are all violations of the Magic: The Gathering Arena User Agreement.

CFBEvents reserves the right to reschedule and/or restart tournaments, matches, extend timers and/or games as needed.

 

To be eligible to participate in MagicFest Online, the following requirements must be met:

  • All players must be at least sixteen years of age or older

  • Minors need parental consent to participate in the tournament.

  • Players must have Internet access.

  • Players must have access to a personal computer.

 

Players must be Organized Play Account holders in good standing and in compliance with the Wizards Terms and Conditions.

 

Data Transfers

Participation in MagicFest Online requires CFBEvents’ disclosure of certain information to Wizards of the Coast. By participating in MagicFest Online, you expressly acknowledge and agree that CFBEvents may share the following information with Wizards of the Coast:

  • Wizards Account email address

  • Direct Challenge ID

By participating in MagicFest Online, you consent to having your name, username and/or submitted decklist for any qualifier or championship posted on the CFBEvents website as well as magic.gg.
